The F-series is the top-selling vehicle in the United States, and while the light-duty F-150 accounts for most of those sales, the larger and more capable Super Duty remains hugely popular among buyers who need serious hauling and towing muscle. Ford has now announced a set of updates to the Super Duty lineup for 2027, extending access to popular off-road packages and trim levels to a broader range of configurations.
The Tremor name has spread across a wide swath of Ford's truck and SUV portfolio, appearing on everything from the compact Maverick pickup to the full-size Expedition. The Super Duty has offered a Tremor package since 2020, but Ford is now making those upgrades available on more variants than before.
Starting with the 2027 model year, the Tremor package can be added to the XL trim when combined with the STX Appearance package. This combination brings 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac tires, a lifted suspension, an electronic locking rear differential, skid plates, Trail Control, and Rock Crawl mode. The Tremor package also gains compatibility with crew-cab models fitted with the longer eight-foot cargo bed—a combination Ford says buyers have been requesting.
Separately, the XL trim has offered a model-specific Off-Road package since 2023, which adds 33-inch tires, an electronic locking rear differential, and skid plates for $995 without the Tremor's visual enhancements. However, customers in demanding trades—Ford specifically calls out arborists, forestry workers, mining engineers, and utility crews—have been asking for even greater ground clearance. In response, Ford is introducing the XL Off-Road 35-Inch Tire package, which delivers precisely what the name suggests. Along with the larger rubber, it adds a raised ride height, a limited-slip front differential, an electronic locking rear differential, upgraded dampers, Trail Control, Trail Turn Assist, Rock Crawl mode, and skid plates protecting the transfer case and fuel tank. The existing Off-Road package will be renamed to reflect its 33-inch tire specification.
Ford is also responding to demand from customers who upfit F-550s and want a more refined cabin experience. For 2027, the top-of-the-line Platinum trim level can now be specified on the F-350, F-450, and F-550 chassis cabs. Order banks for the 2027 Super Duty open in May, with pricing for the new packages to be announced as the on-sale date approaches.
